After 3 days of Grand Prix racing, with 3 heats a day on Lake Geneva, Yann Guichard and his crew of Noé Delpech, François Morvan, Bruno Mourniac, Adrien Mestre and Solune Robert won the Nyon Cup 2024, the first event in the TF35 Trophy.
After the first two days of competition, Sails of Change 8 was second overall. Yann Guichard’s crew then demonstrated its full potential and climbed to the top step of the podium.
Yann Guichard: “All day long, we were aware that we were four points behind Realteam, and we knew that there would only be three races to catch them, given the wind conditions, so we had to be aggressive on the starts.
It’s wonderful to win this first Grand Prix, and a nice surprise with our new team. Given the level of the class this year, all the teams can achieve this goal. It’s really fantastic for the rest of the season.”
For its first Grand Prix at the helm of Sails of Change 10, the crew led by Duncan Späth (Yann Jauvin, Xavier Revil, Pieter Tack, Jules Bidégaray and Thibault Julien) sailed some excellent races, finishing second in the first event and third on two occasions. Ranked fifth overall, the crew promises to make good progress in upcoming events, starting with the Mies TF35 Grand Prix on June 7.
