Savoyard d’origine, Xavier découvre la voile au Sénégal. Ses parents travaillent comme coopérants et lui

Xavier Revil, originally from Savoy, discovered sailing in Senegal. His parents were aid workers and he was destined to become an engineer. He combined his passion for textiles with work placements at a sailmaker and rope specialist, before preparing for the Beijing Olympics in the Tornado class. French Tornado Champion in 2002 and 2003, 3rd at the World Championship in 2005, World No.1 in 2006, and 3rd at the European Championship in 2007, Xavier knew what he was getting into!

Relatively new to ocean racing, Xavier raced with Banque Populaire from 2009 to 2011 and was a part of the team’s outstanding and well-known sequence of records.

Inshore, Xavier made a name for himself onboard the D35 Banque Populaire, winning the D35 Championship on Lake Geneva in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, he sailed onboard the MOD70 Foncia, before joining what is now Sails of Change in 2013.
