Pierre Leboucher has considerable sailing experience under his belt. He spent 15 years gathering dinghy world titles, particularly in the 470 class where he represented France at the London Olympics. His outstanding helming skills and attention to detail are the keys to his success. Pierre developed his ocean racing experience and independent thinking on the Solitaire du Figaro circuit which he has competed in since 2016. A circumnavigation with Sails of Change would be his first, and he is not daunted by the prospect: “You can’t cut corners. You have to be and give all of yourself. Onboard as a crew, we’ll form a real family. In fact, it’s like being in the mountains,” said the Nantes native, who enjoys Ultra trail running and likes to recharge his batteries in the Pyrenees. Pierre’s appreciation for nature makes him particularly receptive to the message conveyed by Sails of Change: “The search for performance while respecting the environment forces us to question our own contradictions. It raises us up,” he concluded.
